Relating to COVID-19

We're changing the way we work to keep you safe and deliver your Best Day Ever.

Updated 23rd February 2021

From 8th March

6 people can attend a wedding ceremony at our venues. No reception to follow.

From 12th April

15 people can attend a wedding ceremony and reception at our venues.

From 17th May

30 people can attend a wedding ceremony and reception at our venues and stay overnight in our guest accommodation.

From 21st June

Weddings as we know and love them, can take place with no restrictions in place.

We're Waiting For The Details

The information on this web page is based on the high-level information released by the Government on 22nd February 2021.

We await the full details of the Government's roadmap out of lockdown which will contain more specific information relating to weddings; we'll update this web page as soon as the full details are available.

We don’t get any advance notification of the Government’s plans; we’ll be able to read the detailed document online, at exactly the same time as you can read it.

Receptions

At the present time we cannot be 100% certain of the Government's definition of a 'reception'.

For the purposes of this update we will  assume that the Government define a reception as a sit-down meal following the wedding ceremony. This is in line with their previous definition of a reception and seems a sensible place to start. If they broaden the definition to include more, we will happily work with you to include more.

We're Here To Support You

Back in March 2020 we set up our Covid-19 Response Team; this dedicated team have worked with hundreds of couples, across our venues, whose wedding plans were disrupted by the global pandemic.

There have been tears (both yours and ours) but there has also been hope and kindness. We would like to thank you again for your patience, your understanding and your compassion, throughout these unprecedented times.

We Will Contact You

Our Covid Response Team will begin contacting all couples with a booked date up to and including the 20th June 2021 in chronological order. We have already discussed options with our April couples and will begin contacting our May couples from today.

Weddings are all about love, joy, happiness and hope. We’ve all been hoping for good news and we are so thankful that we can look forward with positivity and excitement to brighter days ahead.

Working From Home

Our venues remain closed for the time being but our Event Managers are here to help you plan your wedding. We'll respond to your voicemails and emails as promptly as possible. We are sorry that it is not possible for us to answer the venue phones when working from home.

There are no silly questions when it comes to planning a wedding and our wedding specialists are full of great ideas and sound advice.

Let us know if you'd like a Zoom chat, you can get the kettle on and we'll have a lovely long chat about your big day.

Still No Venue Visits

We look forward to receiving clarification of when venue visits will be permitted.

We are terribly sad that we cannot welcome you to the venue at the present time but we're here to support your wedding planning, just get in touch if we can help.

It's easy to get your planning done from home too, if you haven't checked it out already, login to your Wedding Planner for top tips, specific dates for what needs doing when, supplier details and links to everything from your Venue Set Up Sheet, bunting plans and more.

What Can You Enjoy?

Your exclusive use of the venue on your wedding day doesn't change. Your suppliers are welcome from 10am and the Dressing Room onsite is available from 10:30am; your exclusive use starts from 11am.

The Registrars have confirmed that they are happy to conduct your ceremony at our Covid-19 Secure Venues and you should liaise with them directly about your ceremony options.

Following your ceremony, your guests will be invited to take their seats for a table drinks service of your no-corkage drinks while you enjoy a stroll in the stunning grounds, getting some amazing photographs and we'll work with you and your photographer to manage social distancing throughout.

Your Wedding Breakfast

Together, we'll work out a fabulous seating plan for you and your guests in line with Government guidance and ensure the swift service of celebratory drinks to your table throughout your wedding breakfast and speeches.

You're welcome to work with our catering partners, Jenkinsons, on any embellishments or amendments to your wedding breakfast menu; a meal shared with loved ones on a day to remember, forever.

We'll supply a microphone for your speeches and your Event Manager will be on hand throughout your day to ensure everything runs smoothly.

We're working with couples right now who are blowing our minds with their amazing alternatives to a packed dance floor (dancing is not permitted under current Government guidance).

They're planning to have fun and enjoy every moment right up until the venue closes.

Hit the button below for full details of some of the amazing ways to enjoy your evening.

Evening Ideas

Staying Overnight From 17th May

From 17th May 2021 it will be possible to stay overnight at our wedding venues. We'd absolutely love you to stay over and have the opportunity to use your Wedding Night Suite.

The only way we can make this a viable option and include the use of your Wedding Night Suite is if a minimum number of guest bedrooms are booked for your wedding night. See details below for your venue.

Your guests are welcome to book overnight accommodation online and are welcome to use the facilities in their room as soon as they have checked in. For your safety, our enhanced housekeeping regimen includes rigorous sanitisation, with particular attention being paid to regular touch points. click the button below for more information on how we're changing the way we operate to keep you and your guests safe.

You and your overnight guests can look forward to a pre-ordered breakfast service the following morning.

Keeping You Safe

Your Wedding Night Suite is available for you to use only if the minimum number of guest rooms listed below are also booked for your wedding night.

Pendrell Hall - 10 rooms

The Mill Barns - 10 rooms

The Ashes Barns - The Country House

Please note that the details of this option are in line with the most recent guidance for weddings that were in place prior to the current national lockdown. We will update this webpage as further details are released.

Option 2 - Civil Ceremony Only

At 33% of the price agreed for your booked date.

From 8th March

6 people can attend a wedding ceremony at our venues.

From 12th April

15 people can attend a wedding ceremony at our venues.

From 17th May

30 people can attend a wedding ceremony at our venues.

20th June 2021

Last date for Ceremony Only option.

We know so many of you desperately want to get married and move ahead with your life plans.

You can choose to get married on your booked date and share an intimate and beautiful ceremony with your close family and loved ones for just 33% of the agreed price of your booked date.

We will repay any outstanding amount to you within 5 working days of your ceremony date.

We’re trying to offer as much flexibility as we can, this option let’s you enjoy a sacred right of passage with those closest to you. All the couples who have enjoyed a Ceremony Only at our venues have all said how amazing it was and have no regrets. Love is not cancelled.

How does this differ from Option 1?

This Ceremony Only option includes use of just the ceremony space. Your exclusive use of the venue begins 1 hour prior to your ceremony time, until 1 hour after your ceremony.

We recommend guests arrive around 30 minutes prior to the ceremony time, when they will be invited to take their seats in the ceremony space.

Following the ceremony, we are happy to work with you and your professional photographer to get a few socially distanced photographs before wishing you well upon your departure, no later than 1 hour after the ceremony.

No drinks or refreshments can be served at this ceremony only option.

Let's Talk

We know Option 1 and 2 won't be right for everyone; we know how hard it is to plan a wedding under normal circumstances. We share your heartache at how unfair it is that this awful pandemic has disrupted your beautiful plans but we're here for you, trying to do our very best for you.

If you are interested in considering Option 1 or Option 2, we'll work with you to flesh out a detailed plan for what your unique day could be. As the details of the Government roadmap are released we will update the information on this webpage.

Let's talk, let's stay positive and work together to find the right fit for you.

Option 3 - Postpone

Couples with a date on or before 20th June 2021 can work with us to postpone their booking to a date in the future.

We hope you'll embrace what you can do on your booked date, your wedding can take place and we'll do everything that we can to make it the beautiful and extraordinary day you deserve.

Our Response Team will be in touch to explore your options and if you definitely want to postpone, we will get this actioned for you.

We will work with you to discuss available dates, you can choose any available date up to 30th June 2024, at Foxtail Barns, The Ashes Barns, The Mill Barns or Pendrell Hall.

We are not charging any postponement fees and have waived our standard  administration fee for moving your wedding date.

Upon confirmation of a postponement, we will email any guests who had booked accommodation at our venue for the night of your original wedding date and ask them if they would like a full refund or if they would like us to move their room booking to your new wedding date.

Our catering partners, Jenkinsons, will transfer any monies paid over to your new wedding date. Please understand that they may be unable to honour your catering quote dependent upon how far into the future your new wedding date is.

If you select a new wedding date where the Venue Hire Price is less than your original date, we will refund you the difference within the 7 days following your new wedding date subject to accounting for any extras (such as drinks) which you have chosen to add to your account.

If you select a wedding date where the Venue Hire Price is more than your original date, we require a top up payment to ensure we are in receipt of the appropriate initial payment amount for your booked date. The balance on your account is payable eight weeks prior to your new wedding date.

Option 4 - Gift Voucher

Opt to receive a Gift Voucher for future use.

Eligible couples with a booked date on or prior to 20th June 2021 can opt to cancel their booking and receive a Gift Voucher for any monies paid to date which can be  used to secure a wedding date at any Best Day Ever Venue (The Ashes Barns, Pendrell Hall, The Mill Barns and Foxtail Barns) for any available wedding date up to 30th June 2024.

The Gift Voucher is non transferable and non-refundable. It cannot be exchanged for cash in part or full and is valid for a single transaction only.

The Gift Voucher can only be used by the named individuals on your current signed Booking Form.

The Gift Voucher can only be used to secure a wedding date and any goods or services associated with that wedding date.

If you opt to receive a Gift Voucher:

The Gift Voucher will be issued digitally and will form a binding contract.

We will refund all accommodation bookings for your original date, to whomever made the booking in due course. Again, this may take a little longer than usual.

Our catering partners, Jenkinsons, will also issue a Gift Voucher for any monies paid.

Your Gift Voucher is valid for any available date at any Best Day Ever Venue (The Ashes Barns, Pendrell Hall, The Mill Barns, Foxtail Barns) to secure a wedding date prior to 30th June 2024.
