Celebrating and supporting love with Pride, on your Best Day Ever.
Handpicked Wedding Suppliers from the LGBTQ+ Community
Love is Love
Phil here from The Dignums photography duo. It’s Pride month as I write this: an opportunity to celebrate diversity, difference, and love. A time to remember and honour those who have championed and advanced LGBTQ+ rights and acceptance over the years.
As a gay married couple who work in the wedding industry, the legalisation of same sex marriage was hugely meaningful and personal for us. When Toby and I first met, marriage wasn’t legal in the U.K. When the law was eventually changed back in 2013, and was eventually took effect in March 2014, it meant we finally had the choice to have a wedding day. We got married just twelve months after it was legal, and we still get a HUGE kick out of calling each other husband!
The aim of this blog post is to celebrate love, marriage, and a handful of Best Day Ever’s Handpicked Wedding Suppliers from within the LGBTQ+ community.
The Dignums LGBTQ+ Wedding Photographers
The Dignums are Toby and Phil. We are a same sex married wedding photography team. Our approach is relaxed, informal, and friendly. Our work is fun, colourful, and moment driven; with a goal of documenting your day authentically.
Photographing LGBTQ+ couples enjoying their wedding day is particularly special for us as it can often feel like not only a celebration of two individuals love for each other, but also a celebration of love over adversity, love that has been needed to be championed, love that is now legal to celebrate in the form of marriage: a very wonderful and beautiful thing.
If you’re a couple within the Queer community and are getting married; we can genuinely say: “we get it!”
If you’re looking for wedding photography that captures you celebrating your day your way, photographers that champion you focusing on what you want, rather than traditional concepts of how a wedding “should” look, then we could very likely be a great fit for you.
Love Flowers LGBTQ+ Wedding Florist
Hi. I’m Steff from Love Flowers. I’m a florist who specialises in weddings, and I’m very much part of the LGBTQ+ community. I have a beautiful workshop at home where I work from, and working from home means I’m never too far from my wife and son.
My overall floristry style is quite relaxed. I love beautifully textural designs with lots of depth. Each wedding is unique just as each couple are, so whatever florals you require - whether it just be personal flowers or you would like flowers covering every available surface, I am more than happy to make your visions a reality.
I love all weddings, I truly do, however LGBTQ+ weddings feel even more special. The joining of two people in marriage is wonderful but the joining of ANY two people in marriage is even better! Love, whoever it is between, is a beautiful thing, it is to be celebrated and it would be a real honour to be involved with your day.
Hair by Lindsay LGBTQ+ Wedding Hair Stylist
I am a champion of Love is Love, timeless romantic too. I am so incredibly blessed to be a part of clients most treasured days of their lives.
Hair by Lindsay styling is always client led whether it’s classic, vintage or boho all my styles are bespoke to you and I can also offer inspiration if you are unsure , I am here to make my clients and their wedding party look their best. As a lesbian woman my best work days are using my artistic talents for LGBTQ+ weddings, it’s such an honour and a privilege to be part of those days. I know from personal experience that the clients have had their own personal journey to get to that special day, they have found love in each other and are free to celebrate. I just want to make them shine, be proud of their love and look absolutely amazing.
I bring to my work a calm and fun persona, often helping clients beyond the hair, I am always happy to go that extra mile.
