Wedding Playlist

It’s easily forgotten amongst all the other seemingly more pressing wedding planning decisions but your wedding playlist sets the mood at your wedding. If you want to hear the songs you love, songs that mean something to you both, then it’s worth putting some thought into creating your ultimate wedding playlist.
There will be plenty of opportunities during your wedding day for music to enhance the mood, delight your guests and bring your wedding theme to life. Music is one of the most intoxicating mediums at your disposal, use it to help tell your story.

Captivate Your Guests

From the moment your guests arrive at The Ashes on your wedding day, you can set the tone of the occasion with a carefully chosen wedding playlist. Your Event Manager will ensure that your choice of background music is playing in The West Barn at least an hour before your ceremony time.
Having some background music on helps to relax guests as they arrive. Choose music that’s close to your heart and you’ll make them smile as their anticipation builds towards the big moment…

The Ceremony

From my heart, I can promise you that your Event Manager never underestimates the importance of your ceremony music.
The main reason we ask you to supply your wedding playlist on an iPod a few days before your wedding, is so that we can test the iPod is compatible with our system and practice cueing that all-important Bride’s Entrance track.
We also ask you to separate the Ceremony Tracks into individually named wedding playlists so that we are totally clear on which track you want playing when.
Download our Wedding Playlist Guide below for a breakdown of the key ceremony moments and have some fun deciding which tracks will touch your heart and enhance the occasion.

Heighten the Emotion

It’s fabulous to have your personal wedding playlist in the background throughout your Drinks Reception and the Wedding Breakfast.
When choosing the tracks for these playlists consider that the music should add to the ambience; you don’t want it overpowering the dinner conversation.
If you run out of time to do your own ambient playlist for the Wedding Breakfast, don’t worry; we have a great one you can use.

Songs to make you Dance

I haven’t met a couple yet who weren’t hoping for a packed dance floor at their evening reception.
I can tell you from experience that the easiest way to make that happen is to get up there and lead by example. Nothing beats seeing the Bride and Groom gettin’ on down, your guests won’t be able to resist joining you!

We’ve asked our incredible recommended DJs Sound Solutions for their suggestions to help you to create the ultimate wedding playlist:

Selecting your First Dance music is very personal but from a DJ’s point of view here are a couple of the ones we enjoy playing.

Wedding Playlist FAQ’s

1. Which iPods are Compatible? For an up to date list of which iPods and iPhones are compatible please visit the Venue Set Up Guide and download our iPod Playlist Guide
2. Can I use Spotify? Unfortunately not, our broadband and WiFi is too slow due to our rural location.
3. Can I connect my laptop up to your speakers? Technically yes, with the right cable; although practically it’s not a good idea. Your Event Manager won’t be confident using your laptop but they’re extremely capable with an iPod or iPhone. In addition to that the dock is in a very tight space unsuitable for a laptop.
4. Can I just use your speakers? Our speakers are designed for ambient background music and are not suitable for your evening disco. For details of our recommended DJ’s Sound Solutions please visit our Suppliers Directory or click the link within this blog.
