Your online Wedding Planner is a great place to start tackling your wedding preparations from home. It’s packed full of top tips, specific dates for what needs doing when, supplier details and links to everything from your Venue Set Up Sheet to the perfect seating plan software.

If your wedding supplier needs our help with anything, don’t hesitate to ping us an email and we’ll get in touch with them directly.

A core team of wedding specialists are on hand to bounce ideas off, discuss timings and generally chat all things wedding.

Planning Meetings

We can't wait to get back to doing what we do best; helping you plan and enjoy the Best Day Ever!

We can offer a video call using Zoom or a more traditional lovely long chat on the phone talking through the details of your big day.

Planning Meetings will be held once we know your wedding is going ahead.

Please also be reassured that we are not requesting final balances until we know your wedding is able to go ahead.

Experience Events

If you haven't already attended one of our amazing Experience Events and your wedding falls within the next few months, don't worry! We'll start organising some 2020 Experience Events as soon as we can.

We await full details and guidance  from the Government, as to when licensed premises (pubs, restaurants and ourselves) can reopen. This is expected to be during 'Step 3' of the Government's plan to ease the UK out of lockdown. Step 3 will not happen prior to July 2020 and as soon as we know more, we'll be in touch.

(If you have worked with us to postpone your 2020 wedding and have not already attended an Experience Event, then we'll invite to yours, closer to your new wedding date.)

Getting In Touch

If you've got a question don't hesitate to send an email into your venue's inbox and we'll get back to you as soon as we can. Please forgive us if there is a slight delay in responding, we are doing our very best to respond promptly whilst also juggling the needs of our families whist home-working.

Warm Regards,

The Best Day Ever Venues Team

What's Happening Now?

LAST UPDATED 29th May 2020

Given the speed at which the Government's position has changed regarding COVID-19, we wanted to provide a brief summary of what's going on at the moment...

The Government have confirmed that they expect to move the UK to 'Step 2' of their recovery strategy in June. The phased shift into Step 2 will see some retail businesses able to open on 1st June whilst other non-essential shops and business can open on 15th June 2020.

That's great news! You'll be able to make an appointment at the bridal shop, get fitted for a suit and get back to wedding planning in earnest.

When Can We Open?

The Government are currently on target to move the UK to Step 3 in July. Their ambition at this step is to reopen some hospitality, such as pubs, restaurants and hopefully, wedding venues.

Whilst at the moment, there is an indication that some form of social distancing will be in place for a time there is also an anticipation that these measures will be eased as the UK progresses to Step 3.

We await documentation and clear guidelines on any social distancing requirements for the hospitality industry, nearer to our possible reopening date.

Once we know what is required, we will be able to asses the implications of any social distancing measures on your wedding and update you further.

COVID-19 Secure Weddings

It's completely understandable that you'll be worried about what impact any social distancing measures might have on your wedding. The 'not knowing' is very hard to bear and we are here to support you throughout this period of uncertainty.

In line with the documentation and clear guidelines recently issued to schools as they prepare to reopen on 1st June, we would expect the Government to release clear guidelines for the hospitality industry as we get closer to our expected July opening date.

You can be certain that we will abide by all the Government regulations in place at the time of your wedding.

We are also members of The Association of British Wedding Businesses who are developing industry standards which will be in line with the evolving government regulations.

COVID-19 Response Policy

LAST UPDATED - 29-05-2020

Every 3 weeks since lockdown began, the Government have provided significant policy updates and we have responded to these promptly and responsibly, extending our Covid-19 Response Policy accordingly.

As the UK prepares to move into Step 2, we will monitor the government's progress reports and continue to be hopeful that the move to Step 3 can happen as expected in July.

Whilst we await confirmation that the UK can move to Step 3 as planned, we have extended our Covid-19 Response Policy to include all weddings that fall within twelve weeks of the Government's next review date of Thursday 18th June.

If your wedding date falls outside the current cut off, please be assured that we're here to support you on the journey out of lockdown.

We will continue to monitor Government policy closely and we will react responsibly as more information is made available, although we do not anticipate extending our Covid-19 Response Policy further.

For clarity, if your wedding date falls on or before Wednesday 9th September 2020 we’ll get in touch to discuss the following options:

  • We will ask if you are happy to proceed with your wedding date as planned. We would love to host your wedding if we are able to do so and we will be ready and super-excited!
  • We will extend the offer of selecting a ‘back-up’ date for the future, that you can fall back on, if your upcoming wedding cannot proceed should venue closures still be in place.
  • If you prefer, you can postpone your wedding, to any available date in the future, up to 30th June 2024.
  • Finally, you could opt to receive a Gift Voucher for any monies paid, which can be used at any Best Day Ever Wedding Venue to secure a wedding date that falls prior to 30th June 2024.

Full details of how these options work will be discussed with you and can be viewed below.

Please have confidence that we will be in touch with you soon, we will contact eligible couples in chronological order.

COVID-19 Response Policy Options Currently Being Offered to Couples with a Wedding Date up to 9th September 2020.
OPTION 1 - Proceed With Your Wedding As Planned

We would love to host your wedding if we are able to do so and we will be ready and super-excited! We can't wait to invite you and your guests to celebrate your big day.

OPTION 2 - Choose a Back Up Date

We will offer you the option of selecting a ‘back-up’ date for the future, that you can fall back on, if your upcoming wedding cannot proceed should venue closures still be in place.

OPTION 3 - Postpone Your Wedding

If you prefer, you can choose to postpone your wedding NOW to any available date up to 30th June 2024, at The Ashes Barns, Pendrell Hall, The Mill Barns or Foxtail Barns.

OPTION 4 - Receive a Gift Voucher

Eligible couples can choose to receive a Gift Voucher for any monies paid to date. This Gift Voucher can be used at any Best Day Ever Venue (The Ashes Barns, Pendrell Hall, The Mill Barns or Foxtail Barns) to secure a wedding date prior to 30th June 2024. T’s & C’s apply and are detailed below.

How Option 3 (Postponement) Works

A dedicated Response Team has been assigned the task of contacting eligible couples in chronological order.

Couples will be contacted, by telephone, between the hours of 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday only. Please be mindful that in line with new home-working initiatives the caller ID may be withheld.

Once contacted, we will ask if you would like to take advantage of any of the options on offer.

If you are interested in postponing your wedding (Option 2), we will discuss available dates in the future and work with you to find the best fit.

You can select any available date up to 30th June 2024, at Foxtail Barns, The Ashes Barns, The Mill Barns or Pendrell Hall and we won’t charge an administration fee for moving your wedding date.

Once you have selected a new wedding date we will email a date change confirmation form which requires your electronic signature.

Upon receipt of the signed form we will email all guests who had booked accommodation at our venue for the night of your original wedding date and ask them if they would like a full refund or if they would like us to move their room booking to your new wedding date. We will endeavour to process each guest's individual request as soon as possible but apologise that our usual prompt response times for this are currently unachievable.

Our catering partners, Jenkinsons, will transfer any monies paid over to your new wedding date. Please understand that they may be unable to honour your catering quote dependent upon how far into the future your new wedding date is.

If you select a wedding date where the Venue Hire Price is less than your original date, we will refund you the difference within the 7 days following your new wedding date subject to accounting for any extras (such as drinks) which you have chosen to add to your account.

If you select a wedding date where the Venue Hire Price is more than your original date, you will need to pay the difference eight weeks prior to your new wedding date at the same time as making any final Venue Hire Payment.

How Option 4 (Gift Voucher) Works

We understand that this is an incredibly uncertain and worrying time for everyone. You may want or need time to pause. We want to support you as much as we can, we understand that some of our couples may have much more pressing concerns at this troubling time.

Eligible couples can opt to receive a Gift Voucher for any monies paid to date. This Gift Voucher can be used to secure a wedding date at any Best Day Ever Venue (The Ashes Barns, Pendrell Hall, The Mill Barns and Foxtail Barns) for any available wedding date up to 30th June 2024.

The Gift Voucher is non transferable and non-refundable. It cannot be exchanged for cash in part or full and is valid for a single transaction only.

The Gift Voucher can only be used by the named individuals on your current signed Booking Form.

The Gift Voucher can only be used to secure a wedding date and any goods or services associated with that wedding date.

If you opt to receive a Gift Voucher:

The Gift Voucher will be issued digitally and will form a binding contract.

We will refund all accommodation bookings for your original date, to whomever made the booking in due course. Again, this may take a little longer than usual.

Our catering partners, Jenkinsons, will also issue a Gift Voucher for any monies paid.

Your Gift Voucher is valid for any available date at any Best Day Ever Venue (The Ashes Barns, Pendrell Hall, The Mill Barns, Foxtail Barns) to secure a wedding date prior to 30th June 2024.

RELEASE DATE - 31st March 2020

Hello!
We wanted to take this opportunity to keep you updated with how we’re changing the way we work to keep you safe and support all our amazing couples through this unforeseen set of circumstances.

Home Working
Our Wedding Venues are closed, and we’ve moved to home working for a core team of wedding specialists who are working tirelessly to respond to your emails as quickly as possible.

This has presented some challenges which I am sure many of you can empathise with, as we all try to embrace home working, whilst also juggling the needs of our children, partners and wider families.

We are sorry that we are unable to man the telephones. We really appreciate your understanding and thank you again for the many kind messages of support we’ve received on email.

Staying in Touch
The best way to get in touch with us is by emailing your venue as normal.

These mailboxes are being regularly monitored and you’ll definitely get a response.

Because we’re all working from home, it’s really helpful if you include your Wedding Date in the subject line of any email, this will help us immensely and make it easier to get back to you quickly.

Customer Service Emails
Some of the emails you receive during your wedding planning are automated, please forgive us if you receive one of these automated emails, which feels inappropriate just now. We’re trying to adapt our bespoke Wedding Planning software as quickly as possible, but it wasn’t designed to accommodate this very unusual scenario.

Planning Meetings
For our summer couples, we’re currently looking into the best way to remotely conduct your planning meeting and we be in touch about this soon.

In the first instance it’s likely you’ll receive an email asking how and when you’d like to chat. We should be able to offer a video call using Zoom or a more traditional lovely long chat on the phone.

We’ll chat through all the details of your day; we’ll ask which suppliers you’ve booked and work with you to plan your amazing day.

A Massive Thank You
I know we keep saying it but you are amazing! Thank you so much to all the couples directly affected by the current closure who have worked with us to find the best option to move forward, in extraordinary circumstances.

Thank you and stay safe.
The Best Day Ever Venues Team

Following the Government's Announcement on Friday Evening - 20th March 2020

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this unprecedented period of uncertainty. Your many kind and supportive messages have been greatly appreciated.

Following the Government’s decisive action this evening, we are closed until 14th April 2020.

Over the next few days, we will release full details of the options we can offer couples due to get married at our venues in the coming weeks. Initially, we will contact those couples due to get married prior to 31st May 2020 to discuss the options available.

Please appreciate that up until the Government's closure of our venues we were legally bound to stay open and contractually obligated to offer you the service you have paid for. Had we closed our venues without direction from the Government, our future was bleak.

We now have a clear way forward.

Please Be Patient - If your wedding date is within the next few days, you’ll get a telephone call from us tonight.

If your wedding date is a little further ahead, please allow us the next 48 hours to finalise our plans before we make contact on Monday, by email in the first instance.

We are reacting as quickly as we possibly can, to this rapidly evolving situation. We ask for your patience and understanding. To say these are difficult times is a gross understatement.

Please work with us, together we can look forward to celebrating your big day and cherishing the good in this world.

RELEASE DATE - 8:43am Friday 20th March 2020
Dear Couples,

Firstly, allow me to assure you that your calls are being listened to and we are reading every one of your emails. Our hearts are breaking as we learn of the catastrophic impact that the government’s social distancing advice is having on your wedding plans.

The Government has placed us in an impossible position. Whilst they have advised people to avoid gatherings in smaller public spaces such as pubs, cinemas, restaurants, theatres, bars, clubs; they stopped short of closing these establishments.

The Government have not banned weddings, they have not put any legislation in place to close wedding venues. The Local Authority Registrars are still instructed to attend and perform your ceremony.

We are seeking legal advice daily, on how best to deal with the current situation in a way that is as fair as it can be to you and ensures a future for our company and our valued employees.

As it stands at 8am today, 20th March 2020, that advice is that we must plough on. We must remain open and offer you the service we are contractually obligated to offer.

If we close our venues without guidance from the Government, our future becomes incredibly uncertain. You need complete confidence in our ability to host your wedding at a date in the future and so we all need to wait.

We anticipate that the measures expected to be announced later today to support businesses will give us enough clarity to confidently trigger an action plan for the coming weeks which would involve the postponement of your wedding date.

For those of you with weddings today and in the days ahead, we are here for you. We will do whatever we can to make your day a beautiful celebration. Precious time spent with those loved ones and friends that can be there for you.

We would urge you to make contact with your wedding insurer and explore what options you have with them. Every policy is different and your specific set of circumstances may trigger the option to make a claim and cancel your wedding.

We are a small family business. Our reputation is built upon outstanding service and the exceptional care offered by our amazing Wedding Specialists.

This is now a personal plea to work with us, to give us the time to find a way forward. Be kind to our staff, many of whom are struggling to contain their emotion as they learn of your difficulties.

We are all working tirelessly to ensure the best outcome for everyone. Following the government’s planned press conference this evening, we will be in touch as soon as possible.

Please understand that we must focus our attention on those couples due to get married in the next few days and it may not be possible for our teams to respond to you personally until next week, should your wedding date be further into the future.

Yours sincerely,

The Whole Team at Best Day Ever Venues

Your Upcoming Wedding

As your wedding date approaches, we understand that you may have concerns about how the Government’s steps to tackle the Coronavirus pandemic, might affect your wedding day plans.

Firstly, allow us to reassure you that we are fully committed to ensuring your wedding takes place and is the joyous celebration you want it to be.

At the present time, the government have not imposed any restrictions which affect our ability to deliver the outstanding service you are looking forward to on your wedding day and we look forward to welcoming you and your guests as planned.

With twelve years’ experience in hosting weddings across three award-winning venues, our company structure has never been stronger and our staffing levels allow for enormous flexibility. The passion and commitment of our staff to deliver an amazing experience on your wedding day remains a constant you can rely upon.

Our Promise To You

We appreciate that the situation surrounding the Coronavirus is changing rapidly. We would like to take this opportunity to outline your options if Government policy is introduced which would prevent us from hosting your wedding.

If the Government introduce legislation that prevents us from being able to deliver our service, we will work with you to rearrange your wedding date to a date in the future. In this circumstance:

• We won’t charge an administration fee for moving your wedding date.
• You can swap to any of the wedding venues within the Best Day Ever Venues group.
• We will refund all accommodation bookings for your original date, to whomever made the booking, upon receipt of a signed booking form for your new date.
• If you select a wedding date where the Venue Hire Price is less than your original date, we will refund you the difference within 14 days of your future wedding date.
• If you select a wedding date where the Venue Hire Price is more than your original date, you will need to pay the difference eight weeks prior to your new wedding date.

Please allow me to reiterate that the current position is business as usual and we look forward to welcoming you and your guests on your wedding date.

Should you opt to cancel your upcoming wedding, then as per our terms and conditions, your venue hire fee is non-refundable.

Should you be forced to cancel your upcoming wedding due to illness, we would direct you to your wedding insurance provider who is best placed to advise on whether your set of circumstances would allow you to make a claim.

Best Day Ever Venues is a family-run business with an enduring passion for creating incredible days and amazing stays for you and your guests.

Weddings celebrate the truth that together we’re stronger. We ask for your patience and understanding as we do all that we can for you in these exceptional circumstances.

RELEASE DATE - 12:13pm Monday 9th March 2020
It's never been more important to get Wedding Insurance in place.

We want you to relax and enjoy every moment of your wedding planning; we strongly recommend you take out Wedding Insurance to give you peace of mind throughout your wedding preparations.

All policies are different but typically, wedding insurance covers you against an unforeseen event beyond your control that results in the cancellation or postponement of your wedding, in addition to covering you for loss or damage to the main wedding outfits; presents; rings; the cake and flowers as well as offering some personal liability cover and legal expenses.

You are at liberty to source your own wedding insurance supplier and there are lots of different policies on the market. Just Google ‘wedding insurance’ and you’ll find some big name suppliers like Debenhams and John Lewis as well as specialist wedding insurers.

If you already have Wedding Insurance in place and are worried about whether it would cover this scenario please contact them directly.

We continue to monitor and react to the latest advice from the Government. We continue to operate as normal at this time.
